Funders & Partners

The WASH R&D Centre is a fully externally funded research centre and undertakes contract research funded by various local and international organisations. The main funders of the Centre are the South African Water Research Commission, the eThekwini Municipality, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Additional funding has been received from other research organisations, the private sector and WASH stakeholders.

The Centre strongly believes in collaborative research and has formed numerous close partnerships, thus enabling access to further funding and building research capacity.
